Before 1964 Zambia was using Rhodesia and Nyasaland pounds, which were equal to the UK pound. Zambian pounds replaced those and were used until 1968 when decimal currency system was introduced and pound were changed into kwachas. 1 kwacha equals 100 ngwe.
