Ukraine has obtained it's national currency back again in 1992, right after the split of the ex-USSR. For the transition period coupons were introduced, and in 1996 the ukrainian grivnya became the only legal tender. It replaced the coupons at 1:100.000 ratio. 1 grivnya equals 100 kopecks.
