1 armenian dram equals 100 luma. The dram was introduced on 22 November 1993, soon after the crash of the former Soviet Union, when Armenia proclaimed it's independence. Unlike many other ex-soviet republics, Armenia avoided vast inflation and did not use any temporary currency units.
