The word "dollar" originates from one of two possible words - "taler" (name of a silver coin used in several european countries) and "tolar" -
currency unit of Slovenia. Presently the dollar is among the world's most used and strongest currencies. 1 dollar equals 100 cents.
(the word "cent" meant "hundred" or "a hundredth" in Latin).
Banknotes of old issues are all acceptable for payments. The notes of $500, $1000, $5000 and $10.000 (issued till 1937) are
payable only to the Treasurer of the US, Federal Reserve Bank or a Federal Reserve Agent.
