West African Monetary Union includes 7 countries: Benin, Burkina-Faso, Cote-d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Mali, Niger,
Senegal and Togo, the currency is CFA franc. The banknotes are common for all these countries, and their exchange
rate was tied to the french franc. 1 CFA franc equals 100 centimes.
In 1962-1969 Mali left the Monetary Union and issued it's own franc. Click here to see details.
