Brasilian currency after 1942 was the cruzeiro, which substituted the milreis. In 1967 there appeared the "new cruzeiro", 1:1000 with the old one.
In 1987 the cruzado replaced the cruzeiro at 1:1000 rate. In 1991 the cruzeiro came back after the cruzado, again at 1:1000 rate.
In 1993 the cruzeiro-real appeared as a transitional currency unit (again 1:1000), and finally in 1994 the real was introduced
and it is a legal tender till nowadays. 1 real equals 100 centavos.
