Before Lithuania was forced to join the Soviet Union, it's legal tender was lit. In 1991, after the split of the USSR, Lithuania was among the first republics to refuse from the soviet rouble. They introduced transitional money, called talonu, and in three years lit was restored as the legal tender. 1 lit equals 100 cents.
